ASP Flying Model Rocket Kit WAC Corporal 18mm
The WAC Corporal was the United States first sounding rocket. Seventeen Wac and Wac B rockets were flown from 1945 to 1947. The WAC was launched with the aid of the Tiny Tim solid propellant booster. After the booster burned out, it fell away and the liquid fuel propelled sustainer stage continued its' upward flight. This model of the upper stage of America's first Sounding Rocket is easy to build and flies well on A through C motors - perfect for any size field! One of our original kits, this model has been recently updated with laser-cut fins, quick-change engine hook and re-written instructions!

ASP Wac Corporal
The kit I received in the mail is worthy of a 5 star rating, though one issue was a little irritating, and that was the nose cone. The nose cone was beautifully turned, except it wasn't even close to fitting into the body tube. Other than that, the instructions are very good, the quality of the balsa is outstanding, and the fins were thick enough to make them look scale. I also like that ASP chose to have a non-launch lug propellant feed on the rocket. Overall, a kit worthy of our first sounding rocket. All the materials were of high quality.
