They're Great
I like to have the option to swap between streamer or parachute depending upon field flight conditions. To do that, I need to have the capability of quick switches. Since I use Mylar streamers, these tape discs allow me to do that, and I cannot think of an easier way to put together a streamer without them. For crepe paper or other textured streamer materials, these discs may not work, but for Mylar or aluminum strip, I think they're great.
